Customer Review: Very Nice Kit

I purchased this Milwaukee combo kit on Thursday, December 27. The very next day I was preparing to use the Sawzall-Hatchet reciprocating saw for the first time. I opened up the pack of blades that came with the kit and inserted it with no problem. Next, I needed to adjust the foot and pulled down the lever to loosen the foot. The lever came off the saw. I tried to put it back on but, it was not the way it was supposed to be. However, I merly felt that this was an isolated incident. The fact is that the kit I purchased was apparently purchased before and returned by another customer. I think the saw was dropped or something, causing the lever to break and not snap into place. I returned this kit and bought another. No problems at all with this second purchase. The hatchet- reciprocating saw is very well made and durable, but only has a 3/4 inch blade stroke, so cutting is a bit slower than I would like. However, this saw was designed for work primarily in tight spots where ordinary reciprocating saws will not work, so the 3/4 inch stroke will not damage other areas in around the cut. This saw features regular action stroke for metal or plastic cutting and orbital action stroke for faster wood cutting. The drill is very nice. It is powerful, precise , and smooth, with just almost perfect balance and feel. This has got to be the best 18 volt drill on the market. I was researching before I made this purchase and I beleive that AEG in GERMANY makes this drill. AEG is a very respected and well known manufacturer, especially in EUROPE. They sell products listed as AEG in EUROPE, but are affiliated in some way with MILWAUKEE. AEG also makes many BOSCH products. The drill also has a reversible battery pack if doing overhead work, for a more balanced feel. The circular saw is not as smooth as I expected, but is very precise and well built. It seemed to struggle sometimes when cutting through 2x4's and 2x6's, using a 24 tooth carbide blade, but got the job done. This was a result of the rip fence sometimes trying to hang on the edge of a rough 2x4 or 2x6. Without the rip fence, this saws accuracy is dead on with the marking on the shoe and is very smooth, however, the motor is a bit more rough and noisy than other cordless saws, but with the advantage being increased torque output and effortless cutting. I'm glad my problem was only an isolated incident. I feel these tools are very well made and could survive severe environments if needed.
