The Body Grip features a 1-inch blade stroke with four-position orbital action for aggressive cutting. Electronic speed control helps the saw maintain its blade speed throughout a cut, with eight overall settings and a range of 500 to 3,000 spm. Even with all that power, the Body Grip is a surprisingly agile performer. An antisplinter device helps to stabilize the work piece and reduce splintering. A shoe cover protects the work piece surface from marring and scratching. i really am not sure why anyone is crying on here about the loudness of it. i unwrapped and used mine today and it sounds like a power tool to me. are you guys carpenters or "hobbyists"? power tools are loud. you deceive people by making complaints like that. i own lots of loud power tools and believe me, this one is not nearly as annoying as they have said in the reviews. not if you're used to power tools that is. i think it's an all around excellent buy for the money and quality of the jigsaw. power switch is in an odd spot, but i really think it is hardly dangerous as someone alluded to in another review. if the tool is held properly the power switch shouldn't be a problem. all around good buy.
